How are you Halloween-ing this year?! If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve seen the fun cocktails we’ve been mixing up all week to raise your Halloween SPIRITS! 👻 Today we have a crazy one that’s shockingly bright, and (if you’re old enough to remember) is reminiscent of HI-C’s Ecto Cooler drink! 😜

You’ll need to pick up a bottle of everyone’s favorite neon green disco liqueur, Midori. It’s melon-flavored and was introduced at the famed Studio 54 in 1978 at a cast party for Saturday Night Fever. Midori has gotten a bad rap over the years, but it’s delightful and fun when used in the right amounts and in the right drinks! Plus, they tweaked the recipe in 2012, so it’s more approachable for today’s palates. So, if you haven't chosen your Halloween costume yet, you'd fit right in as John Travolta or David Bowie with this cocktail in your hands!

Anyway, let’s mix up Spiders from Mars, which we’ve updated from one of Midori’s signature cocktails — a riff on a Margarita for those keeping score at home. And, grab a pair of rubber gloves, ‘cause we’re making some spooky spiderweb garnish!

Spiders from Mars

2 oz. blanco tequila

1 oz. Midori Melon Liqueur

3/4 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice

Garnish: marshmallow spider web

Add tequila, Midori, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh ice.

For the garnish: warm a few large marshmallows in the microwave (in 10 second increments) until melted. Put on rubber gloves and dip your hands into the melted marshmallow. Stretch the marshmallow between your hands to make long strings and lay them over the top of the glass. Repeat a few times, placing the strings at different angles over the glass to make a spiderweb. Sip & enjoy!
